Cátedra de Ecología

Investigación

Los docentes de la cátedra de ecología trabajan en programas de investigación que cubren una gran diversidad de temas en ecosistemas con diferentes grados de culturización. Las investigaciones cubren un espectro amplio de niveles de organización biológica como poblaciones, comunidades y ecosistemas y una amplitud de escalas espaciales desde lotes de producción hasta escalas regionales y subcontinentales. La cátedra trabaja en tres sitios de investigación de largo plazo: Carlos Casares (Pampa Interior en provincia de Buenos Aires), Pila (Pampa Deprimida, en provincia de Buenos Aires), Río Mayo (Campo Experimental INTA, provincia de Chubut).

Los docentes de la cátedra dirigen y participan en proyectos de investigación que son financiados, en general, por la UBA, el CONICET y la Agencia Nacional de Promoción de la Investigación, el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación. En estos proyectos participan estudiantes de grado y posgrado que realizan sus trabajos finales de carreras o tesis de posgrado. Los estudiantes de posgrados son becarios de CONICET y UBA.

La Cátedra de Ecología tiene una participación en IFEVA (Instituto de Investigaciones Fisiológicas y Ecológicas Vinculadas a la Agricultura) que es un instituto de la UBA y el CONICET. Además, participa en el Laboratorio de Análisis Regional y Teledetección (LART). El LART tiene convenios con diferentes Agencias estatales y ONG para estudiar preguntas de carácter aplicado.
