Arid environments have attracted me since I was young. As a post graduate student from CONICET my research is focused on the impact of desertification on the functioning of the Patagonian ecosystems. I make use of field measurements and manipulative experiments to assess the effect of desertification on the carbon and water cycles. From a technical point of view, I am also interested in hyperspectral remote sensing ability to detect key vegetation processes such as growth and senescence. Other interests include the use agricultural systems to improve our understanding on the patterns of carbon exchange between the atmosphere and the biosphere.
